The Hendricks County SWCD is holding their winter workshop and region meeting on March 16th, 8am-3pm at Starkey Farms in Brownsburg.  Presentations at this free event will focus on invasive species management, cover crops, and the soil health.  Please RSVP by March 9th – see the attached flyer for more information. Town of Zionsville's 6th annual Z’GreenFest

The Town of Zionsville is holding the 6th annual Z’GreenFest on Sunday, April 22nd from 2-5 p.m.   This year's Earth/Arbor Day festival will be hosted at the Zion Nature Center located at 690 Beech St.   In the event of rain, booths will be set up in Zionsville’s Town Hall located at 1100 W. Oak Street.  This event will include live music, interactive activities for children, educational exhibitors, live animals, and delicious food.  Admission to this annual event is free.

Blue-Green Algal Blooms and Nutrients that Cause Them: Exploring Indiana's Story | Results

A one-day free symposium was held on June 17th, 2010 focused on blue-green algae. The event was hosted by IUPUI Center for Earth and Environmental Science, Veolia Water Indianapolis, the Eagle Creek Watershed Alliance, and the Upper White River Watershed Alliance. The general session presentations offered a comprehensive overview of blue-green algal bloom issues, which included environmental factors, innovative research, policy implementations, and outreach solutions. The Symposium concluded with a panel discussion focused on the topic of "Approaches to Limiting Phosphorus in Indiana Waterways" with expert panelists representing elected officials, government agencies, corporations, non-profit organizations, and universities.
