The City of Indianapolis constructed the Eagle Creek Reservoir (ECR), prior to and through 1967. The primary purpose for its development was flood control on Eagle Creek.
The Eagle Creek Watershed has cost share funding available for the implementation of Best Management Practices (BMPs) that work to reduce nonpoint source water pollutants. This funding is available to landowners in the Eagle Creek Watershed. The funding is made available through an IDEM 319 grant, which has been awarded to the Eagle Creek Watershed.
Funding is available for both agriculture and urban practices. These practices include such projects as:
Filter Strips
Grassed Waterways
No-till Modifications
Cover Crops
Wetland Creation or Restoration
Rain Gardens
Porous/Permeable Pavement
Green Roofs
If you’re a landowner within the Eagle Creek Watershed, we encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities. We have team members ready to work with you to get projects installed.
